CAT6A becomes the sensible choice when you’re planning higher bandwidth, such as a future 10-Gigabit pathway or other equipment that will need more headroom, especially on longer cable runs. If your layout, devices or growth expectations point to sustained high speeds, CAT6A can be justified. Pacific does not install below CAT6 for new structured cabling and will justify CAT6A when a higher-bandwidth pathway is warranted. To confirm this for your site, Pacific conducts a site survey to assess run lengths, pathway capacity, separation from electrical services, environmental exposure, bend and pulling limits, outlet locations, rack space, device density and likely future use. The survey results guide the final recommendation, and if CAT6A is advised, we document the justification and manage the handover and installation, including testing and labeling as needed.
